I met the high risk team at the hospital on Monday (Nov. 16) for another ultrasound and I'm happy to report that the little peanut has put on some weight! She is now measuring about 5 lbs, which is fantastic. The high risk doctor said that she is still small, but is on the small side of normal. Again, her biophysical profile was excellent - she was not showing any signs of distress so the high risk OB is not in any rush to induce labour. I'm 36 weeks pregnant right now and since the baby has put on weight and is doing well, the doctor wants to keep her in for another week or so. I go back to the hospital on Friday (Nov. 20) for another ultrasound to make sure that the baby is still doing well and then there was some talk that I may be put on the induction list early next week. At this point it's clear that they baby is calling the shots so we'll just have to see how things go. I'm just so glad that she was able to put on some weight. Maybe if we're lucky we can get her up to 6 lbs before delivery :) I'll do my best to keep you posted.
I'm going to leave you with a 3D picture of the baby taken when I was 21 weeks pregnant. It was actually taken at the end of my fetal echo as my 'reward' for laying through the hour long ultrasound. It's a little sneak peek of the little one poised to make her arrival very soon.
